It's November, there is till time to be #Get2019Ready. Go into the holidays with your eyes open and thinking NOT just about the moment.  

4 Tips To Keep Your Focus

1. Play It Forward

Think for moment, how do you want feel in January when everyone else is on track with business, personal or even ministry goals?  Unprepared? Ready to go?!!!

2. Set Some Boundaries

It's important to establish some boundaries.  It doesnt have to be an event the entire schedule of your holiday.  Yes you can still enjoy yourself, just set some boundaries.  

Take some time and write down your plans for next year's event. Have a mastermind session before Christmas.   This will equip  you so that you are not caught off guard and you are flowing into 2019.

3. Prepare and Reward

You may have already written a short-term goal for December. Prepare with some self-care. Try not to stress over the Christmas rush. Stay level headed.  You need the energy to maintain your joy and to maintain those changes on your goal list going forward.  Keep your confidence level high.

Now give yourself a Reward.

4. Get Some Support 

This is positive behavior.  If you are overwhelmed, Ask for help or hire help.   YOU ARE WORTH IT.

Own Your Amazing Ladies!

I tackle life realizing that we have perfect days by our own amazing. 

Even at 54, with all the challenges (life is a transition), from hormonal and emotional ups and downs to parenting and marriage to the journey of entrepreneurship to being a purpose pusher and ministry leader, we transform daily.

Changing seasons do affect your foundation.  You will need a couple of skin tone colors to match your skin during the transitioning stage.

Power To Shift Your Atmosphere

During one of my annual Lupus Awareness events, the venue owner after promising he would assist in setting up, decided to disappear for two hours during that time.  One of my team members accidentally damaged a piece of equipment that belonged to the venue owner.  

He finally re-appears after someone informed him of the incident and behaved like a child whose friend just broke his toy.  By this time my models, mua's, media team were arriving.  The venue owner decided he no longer wanted to host my event and wanted everyone to leave.

At this point fireworks were going off in my head.  I kindly directed him to the office and continued our discussion.  I promised to pay for the damages, however I expressed and reminded him that we have a contract, he neglected to assist in setup as stated in the contract and that his behavior was unacceptable.

He apologized for his behavior, began to assist my team, I addressed my guests with the same enthusiasm as I arrived and encouraged them that the show will go on.

My guests were very impressed with the venue and were chatting about using it for their upcoming events, however, after witnessing the venue owner's behavior they decided not to pursue.  He lost a few potential customers.  I gained a new pool of followers because of my professional attitude and problem solving.  I used the power of communication to shift my atmosphere!! 

This story is for my entrepreneurs who want to plan an event to bring more awareness to their business.  Do not let anyone break you.  Stand your ground, remain professional, keep smiling and keep it moving.  Improve. Learn. Earn.

 

Planning an event involves a lot of loose ends (we call these the small details that are a HUGE impact) and seasoned coordinators have plenty of horror stories to share. 

REMEMBER: You need a reliable team.  It's the little things that make an event go the extra mile;

Maintaining a timeline or story board for all the things you have to do play a huge part.  Management is key; the budget, the venue and schedules, the invites, social media, marketing and advertising, the head count, the decor, the staff, the setup and breakdown, the food, the giveaways, the gifts for staff, the calls and followup calls, answering important questions, the entertainment, the vendors (if any), the program, Whew!  To name a few...LISTS KEEP YOU SANE!

Travel Tips: What's In Your Carry On Ladies

Watching my mom pack for 9 kids during our summer travels and watching too many tv shows, hey!, I've learned how to pack for emergencies.  So here's a funny story, hubby doesn't think it's funny.

I feel what goes in your carry on is just as important as what goes in your luggage.  During our travels to Puerto Rico, there was that time that we missed our flight returning home.  It always saddens me when it's time for me to leave any beach trip.  So when we missed our flight,  I was kinda happy, woohoo!!.   We called the hotel, our room was still available, they didn't charge us for the additional night.  My husband wasn't too upset.  Until.....it was time to enjoy the pool and the beachside.

I had everything I needed in my carry on.  Not him...no trunks, no sandals.  Oh man and wait!  We visited the gift shop to purchase swimming trunks for him.....$90.00!!!  Well ladies and gents, be ready, you never know.  Too much is never too much, fold small and get it in there. 

First, yes of course a nice looking carry on is a must... so as you travel for business or leisure Be Fashionable!

Here are a few tips on what to pack in your carry on.
(I travel every 90 days to see my grandkids....checkout the entire set, great for weekend visits).  
Remember be flexible with your clothing.  Don't over pack!  Pack mix and match pieces that go well together and you can repeat a pair of shorts, slacks or even a dress with an added sweater or accessory.

Get Focused, Ready to Ignite and Feel the Joy!

I receive so many questions about how to maintain the joy during this entrepreneurship journey.  My main answer is Focus and Joy. 

I get so excited when I am focused on my tasks at hand.  I am ready to IGNITE!!!

No Two Days Are Alike

The chaning nature of it all somehow makes it exciting.  No day is like the other.  There is always something new to manage or an opportunity to reach for, which may call for changing routines or new ideas to focus on.

All this change may be accompanied by new learning and oh how I love to learn new things daily, new horizons and sometimes the risks may be high and there may be a great deal of uncertainty.

The risk may call for some stability and composure to just be able to withstand that much uncertainty.  But then again, that is also what makes it interesting and rewarding.

When "Life Happens" for any entrepreneur (Chores, Home, Family, Neighbors, the News, Distractions, Lack) maintaining your focus in your doing is perhaps the biggest, most important thing to be during your day to day.  Efficiency and productivity rely on your focus.

What happens once we’ve been given all the information, resources and tools we could possibly need to start creating, growing and maintaining our businesses? Time to focus and ignite!

Being able to stay focused, work efficiently and be productive are three of the biggest struggles I hear from our audience on a regular basis, and without these three things, you’re going to have a really hard time making any progress with your business growth.

Being an entrepreneur means there is no-one telling you what to do, Oh Joy!!  Someone else was giving you “to-do” lists.

A helpful way to help hold yourself accountable is to join a small mastermind group or online community.


A mastermind might be made up of just you and one other person, or it might be you and 3 or 4 others who you’ve met through an online community you’re a part of.


If you have someone you can check in with daily, weekly or even bi-weekly, that accountability is HUGE when it comes to meeting your goals.


Repeat

Don’t forget this step! It’s important to understand that this strategy is not a one-time thing, rather something you get in the habit of doing every single week.

If you get to a point where you feel like you've mastered this stuff, that is outstanding!  Then I challenge you to start doing it daily.  This will ignite your excitement for entrepreneurship.  Enjoy your journey Boss Lady, Be joyful!
