Your Vision Statement and Values

Are you stuck or did you quit?

If you are a business owner, you are already a visionary. Whether you’re still in the development phase of your business or have been in business for years, understanding your vision can infuse new enthusiasm into your actions.

You cannot build without a blueprint, so your vision statement is going to serve as your blueprint.

Establish your vision and make sure you communicate it well. Your content is your brand is your content.

“Write the Vision and make it plain”

Unless the work you do and products you build are so amazingly beautiful or outstanding that they drive the market through sheer remarkability, whatever your business model, your content is your flagship product.

And like every effort to build an audience, it starts with getting to know yourself.

Your values are already driving your business decisions you probably just have not articulated them yet.

Good news: your company already has values.

They're at the core of why you do what you do, and how you do it, but chances are you haven't pinned them to the cork board yet.

Clearly defining your Purpose, Vision, Mission, Values, and Measures will help your team understand what you’re trying to achieve.

Here's an exercise that may help:
1. List your products/services
2.Translate these into the benefits they deliver to your customers
3. Now look at those benefits - which are uniquely observed in your work compared with that of your competition? (honestly)
4. For each unique benefit, write down a correlating principle - a why - that makes this integral to your work.

Soar though your process and be a champion.

This is an excerpt of my book, The Soar Path.  In this chapter we cover

Vision, Achieving Purpose, When You Get Stuck.  A digital copy is also available, shoot me an email to albaspeaks@gmail.com.

It's HERE!!

As a holiday lover, I’m obsessed with Women’s History Month, because it’s basically a MONTH-LONG HOLIDAY ALL ABOUT FEMINISM. All of March, I have confetti cannons going off in my heart.

So how do we celebrate the women who have made our world great? This month, consider any/all of the following as completely valid ways to celebrate the ladies of the past, present, and future.

Note: Some of the links are affiliate links which means I may receive a small commission (at no additional cost to you) should you decide to make a purchase.

1. Read books by women. Watch films directed by women and television run by women. Go to exhibitions celebrating female artists.

2. On your day off, play “Take Your Daughter To Work Day” with a relative or a friend. There is a woman in your life whose job you think is super-awesome (and may even be a career option for you at some point).

3. There are SO many organizations every day working to better the lives of women. You can take a weekly shift just for this month at a women’s shelter, or use your social media platform to promote a women’s health cause you believe in, or find a young woman who wants to do what you do and take her to lunch and be a mentor!

Go forth and deep dive. Women’s history is awesome, fascinating and endlessly inspiring!!!

Hygge Morning Routine

Mornings are my favorite part of the day. I love the stillness of the world and I love watching it. My mornings have become a blend of beauty and intentionality. Perhaps my best part is thaat I can put on something warm and cozy, with my coffee and Bible. I love the ritual of mornings.

Everything is in order and here has not yet been enough time for something to happen to put a spot on it. Each and every time the sun rises and I see it peeking through, I am reminded that God has promised fresh mercy.

It's the morning when I feel this promise cradle me. I am now a lover of the hygge movement. I love taking beautiful moments and enjoying the simple beauty of the moments. Purposely cultivating a sense of loveliness and beauty is one of the ways I reflect God's character to the world. So arranging a morning routine that combines both my Hygge and my Christian faith has been such a joy. Here are a few of my elements...

My Bible Journal:
A favorite arrangement of my joy, scriptures, words of encouragement and prayers. I carry it everywhere I go. You can imagine how heavy my purse becomes, items also include my daily project planner and calendar, lol. I struggle to journal daily, however I am getting better.

My coffee and coffee mugs:
I love mugs and coffee!! Choosing something beautiful to begin my day with is just one of the ways I cultivate a loveliness in these wee morning hours.

I will add candles and Essential Oils very soon:
I am beginning to appreciate the aromas that come from my daughters room as she uses candles during her time with God. There are many references in the Bible about offering up aromas pleasing to God.

Bible Studies and Books:
There are a few bible studies I have done through the years to guide my study time in my scripture reading time. If I am not working on a specific study topic I read my Daily Scripture book. Currently my mornings have been spent pouring slowly through the book of Jeremiah. After this I spend a few minutes reading through a chapter of a book. I am currently reading The 25 Biblical Laws of Success by William Douglas and Rubens Teixeira. After this quiet time I prepare for breakfast if I haven't had a small piece of something.

Plan your day
Write down your goals on an actual planner. I think there is something powerful about both writing down your goals and being able to look back and reflect on them that is good for the soul. Setting intentions after spending time with the Lord helps you to focus your priorities on what he has said, not what the world is saying.

Your mornings like look very different. You might prefer tea over coffee or a roaring fire to an essential diffuser. Whatever it is that makes your mornings lovely, do it. Enjoy God's creations and long for the world creating, surrounding yourself with those things. What do you do to inspire your Hygge and Faith? What is your life like in the beautiful mornings.

How To Enjoy Achieving Your Goals

Happy New Year.  January we are celebrating are few wacky holidays!!....and of course Setting Goals!!

Setting goals is a piece of cake, but achieving them is a whole different ballgame! There are a number of ways to not only successfully meet your goals but also to have fun along the way!

Fun At Work Day
My business partner and I have weekly fun meetings to chat about our business, family, personal and ministry goals.  We also manage a goal setting Fb Group (Your Goals Matter).  We also track everything from how we're feeling to adjustments and our journey to milestones. It is really exciting and fun tracking my progress.

Working toward something can sometimes be really stressful. If you're like me and put yourself under an incredible amount of pressure, your goals can begin to feel as if they're unattainable.

Every year I look forward to going shopping for a new planner, oh the many options!! First I purchase multiple planner.  I have one in my purse, one on my desk, and sometimes I place a magnetic one on the fridge. I also enjoy going through the pages and filling them in with my to do lists and goals list.  I am not one of those who add more stickers than writing.  However I do enjoy a few stickers; flowers, you go girl, boss moves, I did it.

Many of my posts contain one or more affiliate links where I make commission based upon purchases and/or clicks. Visit my Disclosure tab for more details.

Here's how to have fun at work and enjoy achieving your goals...

Share Your Goals with Others

This relieves the stress.  Nothing is more fun than sharing your goals with others! Sharing your goals with others is a fantastic way to get motivated as well as have a bit more accountability than if you go it alone. Here are some awesome ways to get involved with others:
  • Share your goals on your personal blog. (You can even post your thermometer there!)
  • Get involved in a forum where others are working toward a goal.
  • Join a goal setting community like where members list and share their goals with each other.

Clean Up Your Desk Day
If your goal is to have more fun at work (even your home office work space with your team)

  1. Create "happiness-boosting traditions" with your coworkers or team.
  2. Take a few minutes every day to get up and walk around.
  3. Make your workspace a place you enjoy being. (add some color and motivational photos)
  4. Laugh. ...
  5. Compliment someone every day. ...
  6. Check in with your colleagues and your network. ...
  7. Be appreciative.

National Popcorn Day

Okay always, always have some popcorn ready to add to your fun!!  You probably have some left over from the holidays.

Enjoy your New Year!! Stay productive and happy.
